This blog is about Photography.

I’m a photographer, a darkroom printer and a book publisher.

Here you’ll find single pictures from my archives, alongside short articles showcasing my working process.

I’m generally interested in working on long term projects, but such projects take from months to years to be completed.

So, I use the freedom which the blog format provides in order to share with you what I’m working on in real time.

A more formal presentation of my finished bodies of work can be found on my main website:

About me:

My name is Thodoris Tzalavras and I’m a Greek photographer, currently based in Cyprus.

In 2010, along with writer Ioanna Mavrou, I established the independent imprint Book Ex Machina.

Nicosia in Dark and White, my first completed long-term personal project, deals with the abandoned buildings adjacent to the so called Green Line in Nicosia, the divided capital of Cyprus.

My second book, of pinhole landscapes, is scheduled to be released in Autumn 2014.

You can find/order my books online here:

Thank you for visiting my blog!

Thodoris, I’m really enjoying your photos. As an aspiring photographer, I’m learning from your compositional choices, and as I get to understand more about your process, I hope to learn from that as well!

Thanks for taking a peek at my blog Little Bang Theory, and I’m looking forward to any feedback you might have for me.

  2. Ralph, the secret (if there is one) is to keep on shooting, trying to find what works for YOU…
Studying the masters of photography is very helpful, it provides inspiration and it gives us something to aspire too, but the most important thing is to try and understand and accept and build on our own particular way of seeing…
